I’ve had the privilege of being directly involved in developing the Automated Detection Enforcement System (ADES). Patented under Malaysia’s Intellectual Property Corporation (MyIPO), ADES is the first of its kind a system designed to transform how cities enforce parking and manage mobility.
When we built ADES, our goal was clear: combine artificial intelligence, mobility integration and automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) to create a smarter, more connected enforcement solution. Mounted on motorcycles and cars, ADES scans license plates in real time, instantly detecting compliance and flagging violations.
Every scan is GPS-linked and transmitted to the central command system, making the process transparent, reliable and seamless. Beyond detection, ADES also collects valuable data on user behavior across locations and time. This data is then fed into AI algorithms that support smarter planning, prediction and more efficient enforcement.
From my perspective, the real power of ADES is not just in automation, but in what it enables local councils to do. Traditional enforcement often suffers from manpower shortages, revenue leakage and inconsistent coverage. ADES addresses these problems head-on by providing live intelligence, automated detection and precision management of enforcement activities.
What excites me most is how future-ready ADES is. It’s adaptable across different vehicles and enforcement scenarios, ensuring it can evolve alongside the needs of the city. For me, ADES isn’t just an innovation, it’s a true game-changer for city enforcement, giving councils the ability to enforce faster, fairer and smarter than ever before.
